Carrot Cake Rice Krispies With Cream Cheese Frosting

Super quick post today.
I thought I would share a simple way to fancy up your plain Rice Krispie square treats. Rice Krispie treats are my fall back treat for bake sales and school events. They take about 2 seconds to make. Thing is...they can be a little boring.
By adding one extra ingredient you can turn a regular Rice Krispie treat into a wowareyousurethatisricekrispies Rice Krispie Treat.
And then...you make them even more incredible by frosting them with cream cheese frosting!

Carrot Cake Rice Krispies With Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
1 140 gr bag (about 6 cups) mini marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup carrot cake mix
6 cups Rice Krispies

Frosting
1 8oz brick cream cheese, softened
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups icing sugar

Directions
Generously spray a 9 X 13 pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
In a large pan, melt butter, marshmallows, and vanilla over low heat. Stirring until smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in carrot cake mix and Rice Krispies until well combined.
Scrape mixture into prepared pan. Spray your hands with cooking spray and then quickly press mixture out evenly into pan. (Or you can rub a bit of butter on your hands.) Be careful as it is warm!
Let mixture cool.
In a bowl, beat cream cheese and vanilla until smooth. Slowly beat in icing sugar until spreadable consistency.
Frost Rice Krispies in pan.

Cut and serve.
These are the same crispy, chewy, tasty Rice Krispie treats we know and love BUT they are jazzed up a bit with some spice and a cream cheese frosting!
I'm sure you could use confetti cake mix or even a spice cake mix and this would work too.
