They may not be the prettiest looking treat but they are very, very tasty.
Okay...there is one condition...you have to love peanut butter and chocolate and brownies.
Still on board?
I thought so.
This is insanely easy. No oven involved. From start to finish in about 5 minutes. Not even lying.
I saw these on Pinterest and followed the link to Six Sister's Stuff (how awesome is that blog, by the way?) and discovered you only need 5 ingredients to create this masterpiece.
Pop over there - Six Sister's Stuff: Peanut Butter Brownie Buddies - to see their photos and the original recipe, and then you will want to run to the store and pick up the ingredients.
Peanut Butter Brownie Chex Mix
(Slightly adapted from Six Sister's Stuff)
7 cups Chex cereal
1 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1 1/4 cup brownie mix, from the box
16 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, chopped
Put cereal in a very large bowl. In a separate, microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate and peanut butter for 20 seconds. Remove and stir. If not completely smooth, microwave at 10 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
Pour chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently stir until well coated.
Scoop cereal into a large plastic bag. Sprinkle with the dry brownie mix and shake the bag gently to coat.
Mix in the chopped peanut butter cups and serve.
(You can mix the brownie mix into the cereal in a bowl but the bag method is much easier and less messy!)
The combination of peanut butter and chocolate is always a favorite...but throw in the texture mix of crunchy and squishy and you have a winner.
We had a family BBQ and put a bowl of this out with the potato chips and Cheesies and these went first.
Super simple, super fast, super tasty.
You just can't lose.
Well....except for the whole sugar coma thing...
