    1. Oh! Okay. The caramel we use is store bought! (I know, we cheated!) We used the Litehouse brand caramel apple dip but pretty much any caramel will do.......even the caramel ice cream topping would work - it would just be a little thinner! The rest of the recipe is in our blog titled "Apple with Caramel Cream Cheese Dip" - which you can find using the search bar on our blog. Hope that helps!

  6. Where do you purchase the 2 oz. carmel dip for the Apple with Caramel Cream Cheese Dip or could you purchase carmel ice cream topping in a jar or what other alternative could be used?

    1. We bought it at our local Buy-Low grocery store. You can use a large jar of caramel sauce if you can't find the individual ones. You would need ~2 1/2 cups of caramel sauce to make the recipe as written.
The caramel ice cream topping would work just fine - it would just be a little bit thinner.

    2. My Quebec husband's favourite - 1 1/2 c. brown sugar; 1 cup butter; 2/3 cup heavy cream; 2 tsp. vanilla. Heat sugar, butter, cream until well blended and cook at low boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and cool. Pour into unbaked 9" pie crust and bake @ 450 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 for another 20 minutes. Add pecans. if you wish. I couldn't say it's the healthiest, but a small sliver gives a LOT of yummy! Enjoy!

  8. Hi Jo and Sue, Wow! I am loving exploring all of your recipes (somehow I found you through pininterest I think)I just bought myself a food processor today so I could make the banana icecream (froze bananas last night). It tasted great! I am sometimes a lazy cook so stuff like that is fantastic. I am having a cauliflower/rice inspired dinner tonight. I am loving all the brain explosions!! I'm Australian and some of us halloween but many of us don't (but the shops are pushing it!) I know it's a big holiday in the US and I loved all your cooking - man you guys are awesome. I have stopped eating breads and cereals etc. so a lot of your stuff is great - I can't wait to try other recipes. Just wanted to say you have a fabulous blog and you have a real talent for cooking.

  13. Just thought I would post here for everyone - Okay. I JUST figured out how to add a PinIt Button to each blog post. Hallelujah!! It's only taken me a million years to figure that out. ANYWAYS.... now there is a Pin It Button on the bottom of the post you can click and that should work. :) Hope that is more helpful for everyone. (The only thing is I have to add it to each individual post so it will take me some time to go back and add it to ALL of our posts. If you have a specific post you want me to get to first please let me know!!)

    1. HI. Sorry about not ever posting the recipe for it :/ Here is the link that we were inspired by - http://www.bigredkitchen.com/2008/10/jalapeno-popper-dip/ . All we did was - after it was baked - scooped it into the shot glasses and then sprinkled the crushed crumbs on top. Hope that helps you!! :)

  16. Hi guys,
I really enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work.
I was ready your blog on fairy gardens and I was pleasantly surprised to learn you're from Lillooet. I grew up in Bralorne (too many years ago to mention how many) and I fondly remember trips to Lillooet. Lillooet was the big city compared to where I lived, so it was always a welcome journey.
I have been up that way now for about a decade. I recall that horrible road from Lytton where the road was caving into the valley below. Pretty scary on a motorcycle. I hope they've fixed the road because I would love to visit the area again. _Shirley T

    1. So lovely to hear from you Shirley :) The road from Lytton is still as scary as ever! but the view is definitely worth the trip. It's been a long while since I've had a trip to Bralorne. I'll have to go for a visit soon :)

  17. Hello. I am the admin from homepowerDIY where we posted some recipes from your blog. I did not realize it would be such a big issue in the recipes niche :) I am sorry for that. Perhaps I can add a link back on every recipe to your website at the top of the post? If that is not acceptable either I will remove them :)

    Thanks you.

  18. Hi - very new to this blog and am so inspired by your recipes. Thanks for sharing!

Just an idea regarding the pizza crusts made from vegetables: I found the wringing with a cloth bit so tedious and invariably I never got enough moisture out so would end up with a soggy floppy (albeit it tasty) thing. It is so much easier to use a juicer thereby getting two good things out of the deal! I use the pulp remains for pizza crusts and the juice as a refreshing cleanse/detox. I have done several mixed veg crusts this way and it's worked very well every time. Hope this helps :)

    1. Thank you for letting us know that a juicer works for the veggies! Unfortunately we don't have a juicer so for now wringing it out is what we have to do. Hopefully at some point in the future we will be able to try one. :)

  20. Your recipes look great. My first time seeing some.
Please consider NOT putting pictures within the instructions -- it makes it more difficult to copy / paste the recipe into a "these look great - make them!" folder for future use when there pics within the ingredient list or within the baking instructions. so many sites have WAY too many pics of the items anyway ... i mean, who needs to see 7 pics of scones? or a pic of the sugar, or ... well, you understand. Thanks for your consideration. I copy / paste many into my recipe folder, and having to have an extra 4 pages to a recipe just because the ingredients and instructions were not straight forward = waste of ink. Thanks again. (alternatively, use a "print" version of the recipe where it's straight forward text -- i notice others do this & it's very much appreciated).
