Skinny Cherry Chocolate Milkshake


And the skinny shakes keep on coming.
I don't think I will ever get tired of creating new flavors. 
I usually quantify these as being "skinny" just so people know they are low calorie and low fat. That being said - they are not low on taste. In fact, if no one said anything then I am pretty sure you could feed these to everyone and not have them guess they were healthified. 
The texture is maybe a tad less creamy than a "regular" milkshake, but it is hardly noticeable. At least in my opinion.
I went with a chocolate covered cherry flavor for this one. 
I'm not normally a huge fan of chocolate and fruit but this is pretty darned tasty. 
And, for only 271 calories, 38 carbs, 6 fat, and 18 protein (according to Myfitnesspal) - it is practically begging to be eaten at breakfast and for dessert. 
And maybe brunch.
And perhaps snack time.


Skinny Cherry Chocolate Milkshake

Ingredients
15 cherries, pitted
1/2 cup 0 fat, plain Greek yogurt
1 tsp graham cracker crumbs
1 Tbsp mini chocolate chips
1/3 cup 1% milk
ice cubes
2 Tbsp light Cool Whip

Directions
First, freeze the cherries and Greek yogurt until solid. 
When ingredients are frozen, place cherries, Greek yogurt, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips, and milk into a blender.


Process until smooth, scraping sides as needed. If it is too thin - add some ice cubes and process again. If it is too thick - add a bit more milk and process again. 
Pour into a large glass and top with Cool Whip. (For the photos I saved a pinch of the graham crumbs and chocolate chips to sprinkle on top. This makes it look pretty but is not necessary!)


P.S. - If you want it more chocolaty but don't want to add more calories - place a tsp of unsweetened cocoa powder in when you are blending it. It totally ups the chocolate but only adds about 3 more calories.
By the way, this makes a large serving. It filled the glass in the photo plus about 1/3 cup extra. 


I halved the recipe and had half for breakfast and then the other half for my afternoon snack. 
I simply placed the leftovers from breakfast in a cup and froze it. When I wanted to eat it I just threw it in the blender with a bit of water and blended it again. 
Worked like a charm.
